I booked a car at Reno Airport (NV) but I do have a question about the car rental insurance.
Agent
You are an Australian resident?
Client
Yes. On my car rental voucher, it says "You may be offered additional insurance at the car rental desk", but it looks like the price includes a lot of coverage already.
Agent
Australians are different when it comes to insurance (law).
Client
I was wondering what other options there were. I don't know if it makes a difference that I am a US citizen, but resident of Australia.
Agent
If you go back to the website and go back through the process as if you were going to make the booking again next to the car of your choice is a link called "Important information".
Agent
Click on that and then "Insurance" and it will show you the options when you arrive if you want to add extra insurance. I see that pretty much everything is included. This is what Budget say about Insurance:-
Agent
Insurance coverage Collision damage waiver (CDW): (Includes tax); Excess 0 USD Glass/Tyre waiver: (Includes tax); Excess 0 USD Theft waiver (TW): (Includes tax); Excess 0 USD Third party liability protection (TP): (Includes tax); Maximum Coverage 1,000,000 USD The Excess Liability is the amount determined by the car rental supplier for which you can be held liable in case of damage/theft of the vehicle. Damage to or loss of tyres, windscreens, glass and undercarriage may not be covered by the CDW (Collision Damage Waiver). Please check with the rental agent at the desk. If you purchase the Excess Reimbursement Insurance from a third party, the main driver will be required to present their credit card at the rental desk in order for the car rental agent to authorize the deposit.
